Committee
The study tour committee - making it happen:
Organizing a study tour is no easy task. For this a lot has to be planned, thought of and discussed. This is the role of the study tour committee which this year has 8 members. Each member has a primary and a secondary function. These different functions are chairman, secretary, treasurer, travel committee, sponsorship and the webmaster. On this page we would like to introduce you to the hard-working committee members dedicated to bring you the Study Tour 2020 Chemistry & Molecular Life Sciences!

My name is Lonneke Hoffmanns and I am the chairman of the study tour 2020. My main task is to keep an overview of the organization of the trip and to lead everything in the right direction. Currently, I’m a first year Master student in Molecular Chemistry, after obtaining my Bachelor in Chemistry here in Nijmegen too. Besides my studies, I love playing volleyball, going to concerts and cooking delicious food. I look forward to working together with the rest of the committee to organize an unforgettable, educational, but above all exciting study tour to Austria and Slovenia for you!
Hey hey, my name is Sjoerd Konings and I’m the secretary of the study tour 2020. My task consists of managing all the documents, contacts and registrations before, during and after the study tour. In the meantime I’m in my second year of my chemistry master and currently performing research at the Molecular Nanotechnology group. Before my masters I finished a hbo Bachelor Chemistry in Breda and Premaster here at the Radboud. A large portion of my spare time is spent with scouting but I also enjoy the occasional brewing and drinking of beer, but that’s not what we are here for right? Let’s work together to make this a trip that will be remembered and talked about for decades to come!
Hey, my name is Luc Zijlmans and I am the treasurer of the study tour 2020. I need to make sure all funds and spendings are accounted for and the tour is financially viable, as such a big international trip of course also costs a lot of money. At the moment I am a first year master student in the Chemistry of Life programme. Previously I did the bachelor Molecular Life Sciences, also here in Nijmegen. In my spare time, I like being busy in another committee, having drinks with my friends and playing sports. I think organising the study tour will be a challenging but also very fun task, which hopefully results in a fantastic trip!
My name is Anne Ottenbros and I am one of the travel commissioners of the study tour 2020. It is my responsibility to arrange everything about the programme, travels and accommodations in Vienna, Austria. I am currently a second year student in the master programme Physical Chemistry and already hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. In my spare time I like speed skating or reading a good book. Organising the study tour will be instructive, challenging and above all a lot of fun. I hope to organise an educational tour that will not be forgotten!
My name is Daisy Kimenai and I am part of the group which is organizing the study tour 2020 to Austria and Slovenia. I am responsible for the activities in Graz and Maribor. We are planning to stay in those cities for 2 days each.
Currently, I am working on my master in Chemistry of Life in the Molecular Nanotechnology group. Before I came to Nijmegen I did my bachelor at the University of Applied Sciences in Vlissingen. When there is some time left, I love to run and play badminton, or lead the boyscouts in Terneuzen. I hope we will have a great trip and a wonderful time in Austria and Slovenia :) I am really looking forward to it, you too?
Hi all! My name is Jenny Dammer and I am part of the travel committee within the study tour committee. I am responsible for the program in Ljubljana, Slovenia. At the moment I am in my first year of the master Chemistry of Life after finishing a bachelor in MLS. During my bachelor I was also part of a few committees: the Sigma Symposium committee and the Parent’s day committee. In my spare time I like to get rid of some energy while going to the gym or play some volleyball, but I also like to relax with a diamond painting, watching some netflix, or play games.
So, I already have experience with organizing a one-day event with success and hope to organize this trip with success as well.
Hello there participants,
My name is Stan Franssen and I am a first-year master chemistry of life student. In the last four years I was busy with my bachelor Molecular Life Sciences in Nijmegen. In my third year I did a board year with V.C.M.W. Sigma, as Commissioner External Affairs, where I was responsible for setting up cooperations with companies. This really sparked my curiosity in this world and therefore I have taken up the position of sponsorship coordinator. Hopefully we can set-up some nice cooperations with some nice companies. Besides organizing this year’s study trip I will also be the faculty assessor, so feel free to discuss education or faculty related problems with me. I am always in for a nice conversation so feel free to come and talk to me. Outside my studies I thus like to keep myself busy with organizing study trips, being busy in other committees, having a beer with my friends, playing (video)games with my friends, watching movies/series or reading a book. Hopefully we will have great study tour together!
Hello everyone my name is Roel van de Ven. I am the webmaster of the study tour committee who is in charge to keep the website nice and up to the date. I am a first year master student in the physical chemistry specialization. In the past 4 years I have been a busy bee. I finished a double bachelor of chemistry and MLS, also was in 2 committees of Sigma, namely we can’t camp and the G-mi. Finally I have also been a member of the PC MLS for 2 years and 1 year for the PC of chemistry. I try my best to also do some sports such as squash, badminton or table tennis, but sadly it is hard to find time for this. This year I am also doing my best on organizing an amazing study tour!
